Just testing...

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 24, 2009, 7:01 PM

Not much to say... Just playing around with the Journal's Skins and learning how to use them. Otherwise, I'm enjoying the fact that I'm starting my Winter vacations :D -Yes people, here in the Southern Hemisphere we are "enjoying" our Winter ¬¬ And, yes I should take pictures but... no, it is cold and winter is kind of sad... you see, the grass is burned by morning frost, the trees are naked and it is awfully cold... maybe the following days the Polar waves that are "visiting" us will go away! :P We'll see!

Uno es la diferencia - One is the difference

Thu Feb 12, 2009, 6:06 PM

"deviantART & Global Giving Valentine's Day Charity Event

deviantART and Global Giving have joined together to make a Valentine's Day where you can not only give art to those who you love, but you can also give support to PH15, a photography project based in Argentina that encourages social inclusion by educating, inspiring and empowering young people through art.

As party of our Philanthropy Project, deviantART will donate $1 for every sale made in our store on February 14th to PH15. Every donation will assist the project in providing photography workshops. Young people attending the workshops will be enabled, aquiring skills to develop self-confidence and improve their job prospects through art.

ph15 is formed by a group of photographers that believe in education through visual arts and the use of art as a means to promote social inclusion.Ph15 offers workshops that possess a completely innovative character, from the didactic nature of the classes to their role as a space where underserved youth can develop their identity and artistic expression.

The project currently works with 30 disadvantaged young people who live in Villa 15, a shantytown in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most participants' families came to Buenos Aires from rural areas of Argentina or from Paraguay with the hope of finding work. 30% of participants’ parents are unemployed and 40% receive government assistance. The main goal of the project is to integrate the beneficiaries of the program with the rest of the society through visual arts.

ph15 also helps the students to take full ownership of the neighborhood in which they live, to discover new spaces through field trips organized by the Foundation, and to better interact with their surroundings. Through ph15 activities, the students not only leave the neighborhood, but also learn how to move around the city and know places where they usually don’t go or do not have access.

Our Valentine's Day Charity Event is held on PST timezone, and kicks off as soon as the day turns over to 14th Feb in Los Angeles, USA. Any purchases made in our store will count until Midnight PST that same day.

Happy Valentine's Day!"

Although here we do not celebrate Valentine's day, Happy Valentine's Day! We can be part of the change if we want to. :D

Once again, up and about

Tue Nov 25, 2008, 3:44 PM
Hi! Well after one long month MIA I'm back again. Lots of things going on in RL, changing bosses, visits from USA, events and so on... and of course, for us Southern Hemisphere people... it's the end of the year. Okay, it's the end of the year for all of us but, you see... your vacations -Northern- was a couple of months ago. Ours... are coming... slowly. Actually, we are crawling to reach them. You, Nothern people, have all the energy. We... are with none.

So, just updating my journal to say "Hi! I'm still alive!" but give me time to catch up with all of you. You were very prolific and I'm tired with just looking at all the deviations you submitted ::eyeing Knittingknots:: Girl, you certainly wrote tons!!! And you keep going!!

So, bear with me. I'm a bit lazy, a bit tired, a bit out of battery... sooner or later will catch up with all of you! :D

Love you lots!!! :iconnewglomp:
